Over the years pieces of marine mammals have been gathered
together to form an exhibition in the Sea Museum. Skeletons of
dolphins, porpoises, orcas, beaked whales, sperm whales, elephant
seals and sea lions, and lastly four skeletons of whales,
some exceeding
15 meters, which cover several rooms in the Sea
Museum.
There is a dolphin fetus and a fetus of a Pygmy sperm whale. There are
several Del Plata dolphin skeletons which is not only the local
dolphin, but also one of the strangest dolphins in the world.
There are several embalmed sea lions representing those
living in Uruguay, where 90% of the world population of the South
American sea lions live.
