Halls:

Over the years pieces of marine mammals have been gathered together to form an exhibition in the Sea Museum. Skeletons of dolphins, porpoises, orcas, beaked whales, sperm whales, elephant seals and sea lions, and lastly four skeletons of whales, some exceeding 15 meters, which cover several rooms in the Sea Museum.

There is a dolphin fetus and a fetus of a Pygmy sperm whale. There are several Del Plata dolphin skeletons which is not only the local dolphin, but also one of the strangest dolphins in the world.

There are several embalmed sea lions representing those living in Uruguay, where 90% of the world population of the South American sea lions live.

  • Do you know the difference between a seal and a sea lion?
  • Do you know how to tell the difference between the skeleton of a dolphin and a shark?
